High Strength Fiction Bolts (HSFG Bolts) are of high tensile strength and are used in conjunction with high strength nuts and hardened steel washers in structural steelwork. The bolts are tightened to a specified minimum shank tension so that transverse loads are transferred across the joint by friction between the plates rather than by shear across the bolt shank. The relevant standards for HSFG Bolts, Nuts and Washers are as follows:

HSFG Bolt – IS:3757 & DIN 6914
HSFG Nuts – IS:6623 & DIN 6915
HSFG Washers – IS:6649 & DIN 6916
